LWP reissue is #1in the UK. Very deserving.

Why is it deserving? It is an old album which has shipped less than 50,000 copies. It just shows how sad the state of music buying is. The new single is bloody awful to boot.

Personally, I've always felt it was his best album with some of his best works on it. Praying For Time still has meaning today. Maybe more than ever.
I don't like the single either. Hey we agree on that :-P

I wonder if ' Last Christmas ' will be this years number 1 ? it never reached number 1 previously and joins a very small list of songs that sold more than a million copies in UK, but never got to the top spot.

Sadly George didn't make Xmas Number 1 , number 3 was where Last Christmas got to, be beaten by Ed Sheeran at 1 & 2.

Watched that "Freedom" documentary the other night. I had no idea that the timing of his appearance at the Freddie Tribute was quite as poignant to what was going on in his life, as it was. He'd only recently found out that his partner in his first real deep meaningful relationship, was also carrying the disease, and was terminally ill with it.

It also gave an explanation why his album was called "Listen Without Prejudice". He'd won a load of RnB awards, and some of the black communities in America were up in arms about it. As a backlash to this, knowing that a few tracks on this album might also get nominated for similar awards, he came up with that title.
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.

But forgot how to learn.

Why the Vol 1 though? Is it true that he intended a dance album with the same name? (Always reminds me of the Van Halen Best of album)

Bought the remastered version of this album with his weird sunglasses and silly haircut on the other side.
Love the Unplugged concert!

From what I have learned over the years, Vol. 2 was to be more dance oriented, yes. Unfortunately the rift between George Michael and Sony altered the path of this, but, tracks such as 'Do I really Want To Know', 'Happy', and 'Too Funky', which were already completed for this particular album, would eventually turn up on the Red Hot and Dance album, instead of LWP vol. 2.

I was just viewing the old QOL board, and I came across a post that I made in 2009 about a sportscaster in New York who died at the time by the name of George Michael, with the obvious idea that anyone reading it would think it was George Michael the singer. The thread was titled 'Tragic! George Michael dies!' and guess what!!?? I posted it on December 25th of that year! I mean...WTF are the odds of that!
