Not quite. It was originally recorded during the Faith sessions but released later as a Prejudice b-side.

That would make sense, but I got that from the radio this morning - George's manager e-mailed in with the info to read out before the track was played.

Listened to a few times since. IMO, it still comes across as Daft Punk with G.M vocals. I think it's ok, but not what I was hoping for.

Monkey freaked me out back in the day. I couldn't believe it was GM singing it back n the day, because at the time I felt the vocals were 'mean' .
IWYS was banned in my house, but I managed to sneak playing it  . I ended up grounded because of it
The memories his music brings back. I really grew up with his music. Apparently, there may be more music to come, and even with my feelings of the Fantasy remix, I'm happy and thankful there will be more music to come.

I think it was recorded for LWP but they put it on the Faith remaster in 2011. A lot of die hard fans complained that it shouldn't have been on the Faith remaster because of the time it was recorded. They are also complaining about the LWP remaster because it will contain a 1998 remix of Fantasy. It looks like this new version will replace the 1998 mix that they were complaining about.

I'm pretty sure Fantasy was going to be on LWP Vol. 2 along with Too Funky, Do You Really Want To Know, and Happy.

I like the original most of all.
I think my going to hold off listening to the Nile version for a bit, until I'm in a better frame of mind. It still is a big shock for me and one of the biggest shocks celebrity wise for me, that GM is no longer here. I keep on going back to listening to his past music, to know there's a 'new' remix feels odd to me, pretty much like LOMO did back in '93 when that was released after Freddie died.

Did they?! Come on Milky, this is me you're liaising with, not some ill-informed Glambert you'd normally shoot in glitter-barrels. Most 'die hard' fans would have known it was recorded in 1987.
Jim Beach would probably tell you God Save The Queen was recorded during the A Night At The Opera sessions.

Nope it's true. Where is your proof that it was recorded in 1987 or earlier? It doesn't sound like anything off of Faith to me but it does sound like the other dance material recorded during the LWP sessions. So far I've seen one article in NME saying it was from Faith.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong but like I said it sounds more like 1990 GM than 1987 GM.

IMHO Fantasy sounds like it was recorded when these were.

Not much on that thread yet. I also found a fan complaining about Fantasy being on Faith on Prince.org.

No that magazine sucks! It came up on a google search and they said it came from Faith. One more reason for me not to believe it did.
