I have been challenged on Facebook to select 17 songs that were released in the year of my 17th birthday. Which in my case was 1977. So I am doing that but I thought it might work on here. So when I have done my 17, I will pass the baton to someone else. Obviously I will ask the person first. Sort of a musical version of the couch.

My first choice comes from one of my favourite albums of all time, Rumours. Almost impossible to pick one track as it is the most perfect album full of outstanding music. In the end I plumped for The Chain.

Second track tomorrow.

Great idea, I hope the thread does well. :)
Gotta say, JLP, you are lucky because 1977 was a very good year for music.
I will leave you to it now.

Great idea!

If you want a go add a post saying so. I have already asked the next person who is a few years younger than me. It will be up to him to pick someone.

Probably "THE" song of 1977, for me.

Sounds like a stonker of an idea. I already looked up the albums that were out when I was 17, and there are some GREAT memories with some brilliant tracks- this could be an interesting thread. :D

Another stand out song for me, in 1977, would have to be the one about how Bob Marley liked his doughnuts (Jamming). Quite possibly the second best reggae song of all time, sat only behind a song that it was itself the main inspiration for, a track by Stevie Wonder (Masterblaster - Jamming).

Must have been about 300 re-releases in 2003!

It would be a bit naughty and against the spirit of the game to stick exclusively to re-releases, but one re-release of a 1992 live album will certainly be making an appearance.
