Not me. I love X!
Sometimes our tears blinded the love
We lost out dreams along the way
But I never thought you'd trade your soul to the fates
Never thought you'd leave me alone

Aah, should've guessed I suppose ;) I thought that's what it was, but didn't want ot be presumptuous. Is the new documentary any good? The trailer I saw a while back looked really promising.

I just ordered the documentary last night. It will be here on Friday and I am sure it's good because other fans I know of these guys loved it. But it's not a concert. Still!

There are concert videos out there. I want Art Of Life but that's on youtube and I posted it above. A 34 minute suite. They played it twice at Tokyo Dome and the first night, Yoshiki, the drummer, passed out near the end, while drumming. If you haven't watched him in these older days, you should. There aren't subtitles in the actual DVD. The other one I was listening to and watching was pulled from youtube but at least I had already downloaded it before they pulled it. It's far superior to the one I posted, above.

Just hearing this one for the first time. Very powerful and quite early in their career as X. Probably mid to lat 80s...

I'll leave you be with Iron Maiden now as I am sure their fans will be along, shortly.

Yeah, I think the passing out-bit was included in the trailer. An interesting band, for sure! I've never really gotten into the whole japanese scene though.

Haha, yeah, we'll see ;)

No, that passing out scene in the trailer isn't the same as the real one. I've seen him when he passed out at that concert. He fell between the equipment and I thought they were never going to get him untangled from everything to pick him up and get him out of there.

That's Yoshiki Hayashi and he has also played in a collaboration with Roger Taylor on a song of Roger's called Foreign Skies and one other song. I noticed Toshi, the singer, is also on the stage and is singing with Roger but from the right side of the stage. Sweet!

I'll find the real passing out video.

Here it is. He collapses at about the 6.5 minute mark. Notably, when they run the full body hologram of the head lead guitarist, hide Matsumoto, still there, playing, years after his death. May have been too much of a shock as it hit all of them really hard.

I've been a fan for over 30 years. Favorite album is Piece Of Mind.

I got into Maiden in the late eighties after my mate played me Live After Death at full blast. A few months later and they released Seventh Son and I then saw them at Donington. I've seen them loads of times now and met most of the band.

During the early to mid nineties I was playing in an East End based band and we covered Phantom Of the Opera, with the second guitar part played on violin. One night we had a guitarist come up and speak with us after our set to tell us how much he liked it. It turned out we were supporting his band the following week - Paul D'ianno's Killers. We went down just as well with the rest of the band.

I saw them once with Blaze Bayley fronting the band and found that, despite the cost of the ticket, it was a better use of my time drinking in the bar.

I myself have been a fan for almost twenty years now. Seen them live twice so far (the Early Days tour -05 and The Book Of Souls tour -16), and I'm gonna see them again this summer on the Legacy Of The Beast tour. My favourite album is probably Brave New World, but the debut, Killers, Piece Of Mind, Powerslave and 7th Son are all up there as well.
