Postby Sir Didymus » Thu Feb 22, 2018 10:07 am

Well, given it's February and nobody has started one yet...

What are you going to see this year? :)

I had the pleasure of seeing Alaska and Jinkx a few years ago. They put on a great show.

Taking my son to see a band called Arcane Roots in Birmingham tomorrow and I've got tickets for Cheap Trick and Def Leppard in December.

OMD and Sam Smith so far. Hoping Radiohead adds an Atlanta date.

Have a few already lined up: Roger Waters, Patti Smith, Public Image Ltd, Joan Baez and a few less known bands (some in pubs and bars). Anybody else in Belgium or Germany going to these gigs?

A bit late but I saw Arlo Guthrie, his daughter Sarah Lee and son, Abe, here in town at the Englert Theater along with their regular drummer Terry ala Berry. Fantastic show that made me cry my eyes out on several songs about Sarah Lee's mother - Arlo's wife's death. But it was so very excellent.

Great to hear. I only discovered them at the back end of last year, but I think I've listened to Jinkx's new album more than anything else all year.

Got VIP tix too, so looking forward to meeting them both!

Going to see Lorde at the Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit on the 28th. I bought my ticket on Wednesday(my birthday). I tried to buy it online since it first went on sale in June, but I had numerous internet issues. I bought at the arena's box office with no issues.

At the Brighton Centre tonight, to see NGHFB (That's Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, for those who don't know what the initials mean!)

Edit: Very good gig! A few Oasis classics thrown in for good measure too!

Was rather surprised to find Show of Hands were supported this weekend by Geoff Lakeman - former Fleet St journalist and father to the Lakeman dynasty of folk chart botherers (including smash hit Seth). He's released his first record at 69, and it's brilliant... he's also lovely to talk to as well!
