2019 Gigs

Postby Sir Didymus » Wed Nov 07, 2018 7:58 pm

Well, with three already booked, it felt like time to start the annual tradition once more! :)

Who are you off to see in 2019?

I might see you there, although I’ve kind of hedged my bets by booking tickets to see him in Wellington as well!

Amazing! Well, if you're around - it's a must... we keep missing each other!

York Barbican. February 5th. No prizes for who. This time, not only our daughter but the wife coming..

To be honest, I think it is wonderful that my kids come to give with me.
Come on you Tigers.

I didn't know Queen & Adam Lambert were playing the York Barbican on the 5th February, JLP. :-)

...waits for the delicate sound of thunder (As Pink Floyd might say).

So far, all we've got booked up, is Jason Mraz at the Royal Albert Hall, sometime in the Spring.

Talking of Tim Minchin, we met and chatted to him a few years back, right outside the Dominion Tottenham Court Road, back when some really corny & cheesy old musical was going on there. Still think his two G's, an I, an N, an E, and an R song is inspired.

He's a lovely fella. Met him myself back in oooh... 2009-ish? At a charity gig for the Sumatran Orangutan Society. I was lot slimmer then and he was joking that me, him and the also present Bill Bailey might be a dysfunctional family unit. :lol:

Since my last post, I've added two more shows and am now officially skint for quite some time.

29/03/19 - Jinkx Monsoon & The Major Scales: The Ginger Snapped {HOME, Manchester}
10/05/19 - Peaches Christ presents Drag Becomes Her starring BenDeLaCreme, Jinkx Monsoon & The Major Scales {HOME, Manchester}
20/05/19 - Manic Street Preachers {o2 Ritz, Manchester}
11/07/19 - Kylie Minogue {Castlefield Bowl, Manchester}
01/11/19 - Tim Minchin: Back {Liverpool Empire}

Very excited to see Kylie again - haven't seen her since the Anti-Tour in Manchester Academy back in 2012! And having already met them twice this year, I'm pretty sure Jinkx Monsoon is going to be sick of the sight of me by May... :lol:

If they played my back garden, I would request to work a late shift. In St Ives. :lol:

That list is accidentally growing...

06/03/19 - Jeremy & The Harlequins {Night & Day, Manchester}
29/03/19 - Jinkx Monsoon & The Major Scales: The Ginger Snapped {HOME, Manchester}
27/04/19 - Goldblade, The Kingcrows, The Kopek Millionaires + more {Star & Garter, Manchester}
10/05/19 - Peaches Christ presents Drag Becomes Her starring BenDeLaCreme, Jinkx Monsoon & The Major Scales {HOME, Manchester}
20/05/19 - Manic Street Preachers {o2 Ritz, Manchester}
21/05/19 - Adam Kay: This is Going to Hurt {The Lowry, Salford}
09/07/19 - Elbow {Castlefield Bowl, Manchester}
11/07/19 - Kylie Minogue {Castlefield Bowl, Manchester}
01/11/19 - Tim Minchin: Back {Liverpool Empire}

Just spotted that The Creepshow have announced a UK tour, and we're thinking of going to see The Dreadnoughts, Sharon Needles and Lady Bunny at the moment, which will pad things out nicely.

Chances are we're going to be at Rebellion Festival again this year, which means we'll likely be seeing The Stranglers, The Damned, Cockney Rejects, TV Smith, The Membranes, The Lurkers, Bar Stool Preachers, Hobo Jones & The Junkard Dogs, Sensa Yuma and many many more.

That’ll be good, the Amateur Transplants were excellent back in the day.

Speaking of which, has Adam Kay started paying Suman a fair share of royalties yet?
