Peter Freestone is involved in this project. Duration time is between 80-90 min. Still no release date.
Interesting news.

He said he was working with QPL, turns out it's RTL and he's dyslexic

Brian has just posted a clip of him and his Dad from the Magic Years on his Instagram - he comments that the interview video is “sadly in the possession of someone who is reluctant to part with it, so I can’t see it”.

I’m guessing that this would be either Rudi or Hannes that own it?

As usual, we blame everything on Rudi or Hannes

Well, it is footage shot (and, therefore, presumably owned) by DoRo.

Indeed. It does beg the question of what kind of contracts Queen (in the form of Jim Beach) used to agree to.

Their record contract has specified that they own their masters since the 70s, I believe. And yet their contract with their own documentary makers doesn't include similar clauses???

The same problem apparently applies to Brian's Albert Hall recording.

such a shame if this is why the Albert Hall 98 gig is sitting on a shelf....

judging from Rudi's social media he's still on good terms with the band, but of course, there might be more to the story than we know.

dunno if it's of relevance, but I think Rudi and Hannes split up some years back, and it seems it may have been on bad terms. Could there be an issue in the DoRo camp over who has what footage?

regardless - it does weird in the light of Brian's comment. You'd think that whether it's Rudi or Hannes, that they'd happily get the complete footage to Brian. A special personal moment captured on film which should transcend any business disagreements

The bottom line is, as it is in most cases, it all comes down to money. Whoever owns the rights to this footage probably wasn't offer enough money to share / part with it.
Forget what Brian or Rudi are saying publicly, it' what is happening "behind the curtain" that counts...
