Pre-Queen tracks which most people on earth have never heard much less heard of would be a strong selling point.
Not at all. Only the fans would give a toss about those tracks.

And News of the World and The Miracle are well known studio albums of the “Joe Public”?!?!
I really doubt that!

Combined, those albums are famous for which songs? We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions and I Want It All!

News of the World songs are so famous that they dropped them after some concerts, in the Q+AL World Tour in 2017-2018. And the persons that go to those concerts are mainly general Queen fans!
We can go to the YouTube and see the reaction to those songs! Quite calmly….

And again, this will always be my argument against the release of individual boxsets of each album, as I mentioned in another topic.

Queen are a band known for their singles and not for the albums they made.
Queen doesn't have any iconic album....except the Greatest Hits.

So, if you want to create boxsets aimed at the general public, these have to contain several songs from different albums dispersed over an extended period of time. Even if I consider that the boxsets will never be aimed at the general public.
For example, divide the 15 albums into 4 boxsets.

And even Innuendo is famous for which songs to the general public?!!? The Show Must Go On and Days of Our Lives….what else?

And to be fair, most of the Boxsets are targeted to the fans…….the question is, do they want to produce boxsets aimed at the majority of fans or those with more financial liquidity?

They could release a boxset called something like “Early Years”, or something like that, composed of the first three albums.
The content could include three cd’s with the making of those albums (each per album), something similar to the “The Miracle Sessions” and more three cd’s full of rarities, instrumentals and outtakes. With a nice book! And one more cd with interviews. To me that it’s a very nice boxset, and not that expensive.

No vynil in the boxset, no 2011 remastered versions that we have already, and other fillers…..
I am only going by what their official archivist states. They are only interested in putting out box sets which may be of interest to the general public.

And Queen I does not have any tracks that the general public is aware of; The Miracle and NOTW has a good few that people know about, bar The States. It is The States where many of the songs are not known - the rest of the world they were hits. And I think they dropped the NOTW stuff from the tour because it was in America - again, the songs are not known there; but I am talking about the world and not just the USA - I don't think Queen should waste their time promoting such releases there anymore...unless the release is a greatest hits package, as they lap them up over there.

The magic rehearsal, who shot it, and is the complete thing available in someone’s collection, as far as anyone knows ?
Wasn't this footage the same as the extra footage on the Wembley DVD from about 20 years ago? If not the same songs it certainly was taken from the same rehearsal film on that DVD I think.
It’s the same source.
Can’t remember how much was included on the 2003 dvd, but I’m curious whether there’s more available somewhere….

I think it's worth remembering that this is the general public who will still buy physical media, which is very very very different to what it was 20 years ago.
This is a committed group of people who like the tactile experience of physical media, not just buying it because it's the only delivery method.
So the music is important, but the experience is equally important, and I think the experience provided by The Miracle boxset is very good.

Yeah, thought I recognised it. But, like yourself, I cannot recall what tracks they played on the DVD. I wonder who it was who actually filmed it - must have been someone close to the band.

But, the general public is not going to have any interest - or not have enough interest - in a Queen I box set. The Miracle sold OK for the first week because of the fanbase and then completely disappeared; months and months of work and effort went into that, as well as the promotional aspects, and all they had to show for it all was a week in the charts (in the UK; I do not think it even charted in The States)) and that was it. And as Greg has already stated: they are only interested in putting out future box sets which will be of interest to the general music fan.

As a fan I would chomp at the bit for a Queen I box. But, alas, it is not the fans they are aiming these products at.

It's an ever decreasing market, as of their last band performance, Knebworth 1986, when within five years of that, they ceased being a current act.

The musical, and shows with Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert are good for reminding people about the songs, but it doesn't make them a current act.

If they promote it right, it could do well.
Nah. The album is not well known enough to do well as a box set. There is just no way on earth Queen are going to even think about releasing it; I'll put money on that with anyone.

"Queen doesn't have any iconic album....except the Greatest Hits". Not sure about that.

The big breakthrough album was ANATO. I had only bought singles KQ and SSOR before that. The reviews were superb and pre-Queen hating. It captured all the good stuff from the 1st 3 albums and blended it all into something spectacular. I think that was THE iconic Queen album. It's the only one I'd buy as a box set.

News Of The World is their single biggest selling studio album ever!

I don’t see this as the foreshadowing of a live release.

What I can see is ‘Queen - The Greatest Live’ store in Carnaby Street for a limited time! 😉
