Or some kind of comprehensive (well, in Queen terms!) live package?
It could well be highly probable now that Queen are launching a Greatest Live Youtube series to run for the whole year. I am putting my money on them announcing some kind of live anthology/live hits package release later on this year.
I think even a Live greatest hits package would be wonderful; all the songs people are familiar with but all from the live shows. I think they could appeal to all music fans with such a release.

I hope not - the last thing i want is Rare Live Vol.2 on a CD.
Full shows please - if there's video to support the concert (regardless of the quality) then it should be released.
The stones do it, so should Queen

That's the question, isn't it?
If there's choice between Rare Live Pt 2, or nothing, what's your choice? I know we'd all prefer complete shows, but maybe they don't.
There always a couple of songs, on most concerts, where they listen to them, and go "Nah!" From the Live Killers set list, and missing from the album, are two of the best Live songs they ever did. I don't think those two songs were crap at every gig on the tour.

I'm not in demand for other full shows.
there's only so many drum solos, guitar solos, we will rock you, god save the queens and now I'm here's I can stand.
it's the rare songs that I want in good quality: body language, need your loving, if you cant beat them, doing all right, good old fashioned lover boy, it's late, life is real etc

See, I feel exactly the opposite to you. I think a Rare Live reboot would be wonderful. There are not many live shows left in the can to release anyway.robdeighton wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 10:41 am I hope not - the last thing i want is Rare Live Vol.2 on a CD.

I think Queen should remind the world why they were the best live act around. A compilation of their greatest live moments would do the trick - if marketed well.

If they follow the Miracle example, they could have a larger set with several full gigs and then a two-disc option with highlights from each gig (or if it's Live Killers, then just a remaster of that with the missing tracks added).
Could just be that they finally pull the trigger on releasing Knebworth, which was seemingly planned and then canned back when QAL were meant to play there.

Yeah, a comprehensive box would be wonderful - and long, long overdue! A big set with all the live shows they can release/re-release, all polished up as perfectly as possible - part one of the set the visual stuff, part two the audio-only stuff. And then, as you say, a two-disc set for the general public.rpt81 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 18, 2023 1:28 pm If they follow the Miracle example, they could have a larger set with several full gigs and then a two-disc option with highlights from each gig (or if it's Live Killers, then just a remaster of that with the missing tracks added).

With the two-disc they could do one disc of live greatest hits and one disc of live deeper cuts and rarities.
I doubt this 50 week live series would just be to promote an audio-only live show which would not hold much interest for anyone apart from the diehards. But who knows? Personally, I have zero interest in a Knebworth release: I thought the show was not their finest and, of course, we only have the audio - which would be the same as the Wembley stuff anyway, near enough.
I hope they are finally giving us a Live box - it's only been 26 years since they first proposed it.

Does anyone know what version of „WATC“ they used on their current YouTube video? It’s right at the beginning. I‘ve never heard that version before, but it’s certainly Roger and Brian playing. Did they record an instrumental version of the song, I wonder?

It would be amazing if it finally happened, but I'm not holding my breath. I hope it happens sooner than later. That said, I do think Rainbow was worth the wait.

I'd say the chances of Queen doing a year long batch of videos and then not trying to sell us something at the end would the weird part.
