I assume you are referring to Somebody to Love and Fat Bottomed Girls. I have never understood why those tracks were left off Live Killers. Yes, I know that edits and omissions had to be made to squeeze the set on to four sides of vinyl without loss of quality (to quote the liner notes), but there are things they could have done differently.

I know nothing about the mastering process (assuming that's what we're talking about here) but the original side two nudges 25 minutes, I think, so presumably they could have lengthened the other sides a bit.

I would definitely have left off Dreamers Ball. That still leaves two acoustic songs. I would also have left off Brian's band introduction and the Mustapha snippet.

They could have made the B-side of Love of My Life a non-album track. (Even better, they could have released We Will Rock You (fast) instead of Love of My Life as the single from the album.) Ditto the B-sides of Crazy Little Thing and Save Me.

I really like the live version of If You Can't Beat Them too.

Exactly this. They have not gone to the bother of putting up 50 weeks worth of clips for no reason whatsoever; something is in the pipeline. Now that may be a proper box set or it may be some shite little one-disc release, but something live-related is on its way.

To be honest, I did not even think that sounded like Brian. No idea where it came from though.

I think something is on its way, for sure. But with this band you never know what you are going to get. I would be happy with a Rare Live set though.

Probably doing these videos as they are going out on tour with Lambert later this year and these videos will make people think, i really want to see Queen live. There's no money in physical releases these days.

How many years now has a Live Killers box supposedly been in the works...?

As for the full shows vs. compilation album argument, I can see it both ways. If it was an "event" concert like Rio or Hyde Park, I'd personally rather have the full show. But at the same time, if they wanted to compile an album from the best recordings on a tour, I'd be fine with that too - just so long as they don't hack the individual tracks to bits like they did on Rare Live!

You say that but Thin Lizzy have literally just released a big 8-CD live box set for their Live and Dangerous album and it all but sold out on pre-orders alone.

Full shows please - if there's video to support the concert (regardless of the quality) then it should be released.

The stones do it, so should Queen
Just because they do and or do this does not mean that the full shows at some point could not be done...it would be a great way to raise the interest level for people to do it this way.

got my Thin Lizzy box yesterday. I took a picture of it, and sent it to a mate who is also a massive Queen fan, with the words "take note, Queen!"

they should do a similiar box for Live Killers. 7-8 complete shows.

I have just read the info for this year's Freddie birthday bash and it seems like the onstage entertainment this year will be the Live Killers tribute act; another reason for me to believe that a live something or other is going to be released.

Aren't they doing Queen I in it's entirety which could hint at that being the next Box Set?
