Your latest Queen buys Part 2
Re: Your latest Queen buys Part 2
I haven't seen it advertised anywhere, and might have missed it had I not been looking through the whole shop.
I also noticed that there was a cd version of Face It Alone, released a week after the 7"... Surely it wasn't an afterthought?

I was browsing ebay, and noticed the Face It Alone CD, and the MPT single, though I was told about that being released at "some point", a few months ago.

I literally heard it in full yesterday and was quite impressed. The first time it was released I did not think much of it, but this version is miles better to my ears. I think it is one of those tracks which you have to listen to a few times to acquaint yourself with. And of course it is always lovely to hear Freddie sing his heart out.

For about ten years, I was watching all these bootlegged coloured vinyl pressing of Queen's studio albums flooding in from Eastern Europe, and kept on hassling the band's product team to take the arse out of the market.
The Studio Collection was born, maybe because one or two people made the point, every couple of weeks, maybe not. I'm pretty sure the bitching helped.

Got the picture disc version of Billy Squier's Emotions in Motion with Rog and Freddie on BVs. Never heard it before so that was something a bit different.
Few weeks ago now but I picked up something I didn't know existed. Was the Platinum Collection on CD in a boxset with a VHS of Greatest Flix 3. Bit of a curiosity that it would have all 3 CDs but only the one volume on video. Apparently it was cancelled just before release or recalled just after and they ended up giving most of them away for free at a convention. Comes in a nice box anyway.

What's on that?

Came out on VHS, and laserdisc when GH3 was first released.
Since then, as the first two volumes of GVH have been issued on DVD, Greatest Flix 3 has remained unreleased.

Thanks Kes. I did look, but my search only had a bunch of bootlegs. Appreciated.Kes wrote: ↑Sun Dec 11, 2022 6:31 pm Came out on VHS, and laserdisc when GH3 was first released.

And yes, I knew about Flix 1&2 on vhs (I had them), and I have the Flix 1&2 promo dvd, and I have GVH 1&2. I just hadn't remembered this at all. Possibly by the time it came out I either refused to buy any more VHS, or it wasn't commonly available in Australia.
