Freddie Mercury wasnt perfect, nor would I have ever wanted/needed or expected it.
Are people really expecting perfection from singers? I'm not.

Did you start this thread CNB,to incite arguments?

You don't need to call Marc "perfect in this role". You have your opinion, as most everyone does. I've said before, no one hears in exactly the same way. No one's likes or dislikes are exactly the same, nor do they have to be.
The primary singers aren't the only factor in my preferences.

I actually prefer to see the QE more than Brian, Rog, Adam,et al now... I bet that's a shocker! The energy and precision Tyler Warren brings is what Roger USED to have. I prefer Francois' bass playing second only to John Deacon and Danny Miranda. That's only my opinion, my likes. I'm not breaking the law or anything with what I like, so I don't believe it's appropriate to say I'm wrong. That goes for everyone's opinions.

I have come to like how laid back some parts are about QE.
Room enough for QE and Q+AL. They both do what they do, and both have their good points.

july, I was responding to another_roger who said that Marc was perfect in the role (I guess he means in the role of Freddie or frontman)! He's a good singer/musician but not an entertainer/showman IMHO! Yes, we all have our opinions! I'm happy for all of them who are enjoying bringing this spectacular music to the public and especially to the younger generations!

I should have said it's ok for Another Roger, or me, or any of us to say Marc is perfect in this role, because for us he is. In this I'm speaking of QE, I don't know about An.Rog. It's too late to suggest Marc would be a perfect frontman for Roger and Brian. They are already smitten and adjusted to Adam.

I do have to wonder if things would have turned out this way if it had been Marc competing on American Idol (or whatever it was), and not Adam. I wonder if they would have wanted to take Marc under their wing, or just pass him off. We'll never know, Marc's career was already in full swing and bringing home awards.

They never took him under their wing. The finale was in May, 2009. He toured his first solo album worldwide in 2010 and then he was invited to sing with them at the MTV EVA awards in Belfast in November, 2011.

Seeing how boring and predictable the set lists are for the currect tour Brian and Roger are on I am glad we have QE. It's like eating sausages for dinner every day. After some time you can not stand it. To be fair the boring set lists started in the 80s. I understand that Brian and Roger cant be bothered to reharse a lot of new things nowdays, they are well satisfied as long as they please the masses.

QE though have exciting set lists and the ability rehearse new material very fast. Their new tour can not come quick enough.

Are you going to be able to attend a QE show this time around? I'd love to see their Freddie 70th birthday tribute in Montrieux.

I think the reason Brian and Roger stick to the greatest hits set list is that their audiences seem to love all of those songs and are able to sing along. If they performed songs that are not as well known, would they go over as well? They did some pretty quick rehearsing with Adam when they added Love Kills in 2014 and I Was Born To Love You for the Asia tour that year and this year they have added The Hero and Play The Game.

If they come to Norway I will. I hate to fly, so that stops me from going very far to see them. Last time I was in UK I drank quite a lot before entering the plane. That helped. I can fly if my life depends on it, if not I avoid it.

Yeah yeah. I like the songs as well. I love them. But having been a fan of Queen for a while I like to hear more obscure songs live. Love Kills and I was Born to love you was good additions to the set. The Hero is a song they played a lot in the 80s, but its not a hit though. Good song as well. Play the Game is on Gr Hits 1.
