Currency is done with the biggest and most valuable first, cascading down to the smallest $10,540,321, 10 million, 540 thousand, 321. Time - days, hours, minutes, seconds. Other things go from smallest to biggest.
In the case of dates, and how the US like to do it THEIR way. it makes perfect sense to jumble it all up and have the smallest denomination stuck in the middle, doesn't it?
As we're talking about the Japanese here, I wonder how THEY do it? After all, they write from top to bottom, don't they?
Btw. I'm not saying any particular way is correct, only that differences DO cause confusion.
Like Donald Trump confusing Twin Towers day with a convenience store.

You write it however you want Inny, REALLY.
I was just commenting on conventions, whether they're right or wrong, it's just how we do things, innit?
I wouldn't go and see Adam Lambert and 'Queen' if they were playing in my back garden. I was rather hoping this would have ended by now and they would have moved on to the next fat Fred-a-like.
Now we've ruined this thread. Carry on....Budokan, whatevs.
