Come to think of it, all these groups still tour in some incarnation today. It would be awesome if they had some sort of one-day rock festival with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, REO Speedwagon, and of course, QAL!

Lynyrd Skynyrd will never be the same without the 4 that died in the plane crash...

Of course, but by that same logic, there's this other band on that same list that I really like which is still touring without its most important member and top-notch bassist.

Do you know which dates Styx opened up for Queen?

Hey, do you have any good perioscope links or just what comes up on twitter I was supposed to go from Winnipeg but couldn't make it due to illness and unfotunately they are not stopping here this time, although 2014 was awesome.

QueenConcerts.com says that Styx opened for them on several dates between February 5 and April 6, 1975. Known exceptions are February 15, February 19 and March 30. Al Stewart, Argent, Bloodrock, Brownsville Station, John Quarn, Kansas, Mahogany Rush, Mr Big, Premiata Forneria Marconi, REO Speedwagon and Yesterday and Today may have played alongside or opened in place of Styx in that same period.

You're welcome! It's a great site. I love going back to see all the old ticket stubs dating back to the Queen I days.

Oh yes, I love vintage stuff like that. One of my prized possessions is a pewter Freddie badge from the Freddie Tribute concert. I will treasure that as long as I live.

That's awesome! Were you at the tribute show? I wasn't even born yet!

In my collection, I've got an unused ticket from their Knebworth show (the last ever Queen concert) in '86. I also have all of the original members' autographs and a white label LP of Queen I from 1973.

Oh I wish I was. But no :-( .
I don't have much of a Queen collection, I've had to sell a fair bit of it through the years.
:wow: How did you manage to get your hands on all of that?

I wish I did know. I'm still the only major Queen fan I know, with the exception of online people.

It's almost a religious experience converting a personal friend from the ranks of a Greatest Hits-er to a diehard. I've done it twice now. Soxtalon and I have written about strategies over on the other thread.
