Do you think that the lack of sell-outs means the tour wasn't profitable? I know it's a very expensive production.

Anyone?

Some tickets were sold for $20 during that summer concert promotion and they had to cut the VIP prices by more than half for some dates but I still bet it was profitable.

Maybe just barely. It's obvious that this wasn't a rousing success.

LOL...I paid $65 dollars a ticket for "nosebleed" seats and they ended up selling remaining tickets for $20.

Yeah...this was their last North American tour.

I'm glad I was able to catch it.

It was an excellent show, btw.

I agree with you all

I cant see this made a huge amount of money (though they don't exactly need to )
Interesting stats on the ticket sales.
Especially with Brian banging on about it being bigger than touring with Fred or whatever. I never bought that by the way.

what surprises me is how far away from sell out some them are. Its pretty sizeable.
I would suspect this spells the end
Europe will be / is stronger

So that's like $6m in revenue from those 4 shows. How much of that do you reckon actually ends up in Brian and Roger's pocket?

I wonder how the gig in Stockholm will turn out this time. Last time they were here, with the first Paul Rodgers tour, the Globe Arena was sort of half full - the notable exception to the rule on that tour, and probably the reason they didn't come back. Until now. I wonder what turned them around this time.

It's stronger than a QPR tour, but its not like the last North American tour. A large number of those dates "sold out" quickly. That didn't seem to be the case on this tour.

They would have been better putting less money into the production and concentrated more on the setlist.

I really don't think a reduced production or alternative set list would have put anymore 'bums on seats' during this tour.
It seems they are falling between that medium to large indoor venue capacity at the moment...too big to play medium size and not a big enough attraction to sell out the larger venues.
Although realistically the numbers are not that bad given the economic climate, the fact they have no new material,no major release to plug and how many other large bands that are or have been on the road already this year.
This was a large tour and if they are a few thousand away from a sell out at each venue this is hardly noticeable as we can see from the selfie stick moments.
Playing smaller venues would mean a smaller production and more dates required to break even or turn a profit and they will not be able to play anymore than the 26 just completed as i felt that was a bit of a stretch.

May have to reconsider how they tour if they want to continue, just as the Stones have had to do. 14 dates in selected areas with at least a month or 2 rest then move on to another 14 dates in another area all sold out all big production with the band fresh and audience happy.

good point on Stockholm
Unless i'm misremembering but there is no dates in Spain and only one in Germany

I was surprised they plumped for so many gigs in England particularly around the North NW area.. For those that don't know there is not a huge difference between Sheffield Leeds and Nottingham. yOU could get to any of these easily within an hour (if you lived up there obviously). They are all 10k+ arenas. Add in the Manchester and Liverpool dates (again no great distance) and that is a lot of tickets.
If, and its a big if, they really did sell out ALLL the tickets that's a major achievement so quickly.

I bet there is a lot of people going to multiple gigs.

All of which leads me to speculate if this is possibly the last trek around these cities and they are fitting these venues in while they can.
Agree with the comments above about the show. Meticulous planning is involved and really doesn't vary much night from night once the tour gets rolling.
Although i can see peoples argument with the pre- determined set list and changes made.

As some people have already said I find it strange how the European Tour has only one Germany and Italy date and none at all in Spain! These are all really big Queen markets but it seems not to keen on the whole Queen+ idea.

The Australia/NZ tour seems to be selling very well, as does the European tour as you'd expect. I do find it strange how the 2 shows filmed in Sydney on the previous tour have yet to be released. Even if they did a stand alone release in Australia, this alone would surely lead to the new tour selling out due to the free publicity generated!

I doubt we will get all the individual boxscore totals for the US tour but it will feature in the end of year tour analysis when we will get the true figures.
