Hi everyone. I haven't posted here in forever but didn't see this posted yet and thought it might be an interesting talking point if nothing else:

Maybe it would allow them to play different songs and or songs that are not and or were not played much before, eh?!

Adam sort of confirmed it today that it's more than just a rumour!

lambert belongs in vegas, in the same way liberace did when vegas was tacky. so why the hell not? :)

Everyone does a run in vegas now, so this doesn't surprise me. Ageing bands where travelling takes its toll welcome this with open arms.
for anyone who thinks this may lead to deep cuts etc, check any act who has played/plays vegas. you'll get an abbreviated greatest hits set.

So Vegas was tacky when Liberace was there? I saw him many years ago in a summer tent theater. He was known as Mr. Entertainment and was indeed a fabulous entertainer!

Absolutely. Vegas is all about getting people to play in the casinos. This is actually quite a sad end for them.

If the rumors are true and this happens then i can see possibly no more than a 1 month residence with perhaps 12/13 shows. Really unable to see them being away longer than a month even without having to travel.
They will try and fit as much of the current staging in that the venue can accommodate and will be purely a greatest hits show possibly slightly scaled back aiming at tourists and new fans having not previously seen them live.
Being in one place without the traveling and a massive payout at the end probably makes sense and they follow in the footsteps of people such as Elton John, Def Leppard and i think even the Who had a small residence as well ( i may be wrong on that one )
The brand is exposed to more people and also keeps the name fresh in peoples minds for the upcoming film of which the American audience will be very important.
My own opinion is i can't help feel a little sad this is the direction the legacy is seemingly heading... Before people start to berate me and mention how good Adam is and how many people have been able to see them...i understand that and i am not against Queen + AL just these type of shows.
We are living in a new era where the older i get the more i seem distant from...

A stripped down set without the bloated speeches, drum duels and selfie stick interludes may make this Vegas stint the best way to see QAL! I liked both tours, but I really wish they'd just stand there and knock out more tunes.

They may cut the drum dual but otherwise i guess it will be 'as you were please' which will include the 'waffle and selfie stick moments along with a large portion of the current set list.
I wouldn't mind betting the cost of any 'on stage' tickets for an event such as this should it happen will be massively expensive.
As previous posters have commented...all a bit sad

Don't grudge anyone making a buck however they can and live music being played can never be a bad thing. Just something I don't like about our boys playing in front of audiences that aren't 'theirs'. I'm sure they'll be plenty of genuine Queen fans there every night but also tourists, gamblers and so on who are looking for something to do and 'oh, I've heard of them'. I'd certainly hate if this is how they bow out from performing live.

I hope that residency wouldn’t be in the Summer when it is over 100 degrees. I was there at the end of May, beginning of June for 5 days and I still haven’t recovered!

I don't think, I like the idea of a residency in Vegas.
But there seem to be more and more musicians up to it. Must be the money, since most musicians can't make much by selling music now. The money comes through touring. Having a residency in Vegas, where the audiences come to you and you don't need to travel, is like hitting the (financial) jackpot. And only the best get such an opportunity, so it's somehow a sign of appreciation for QAL.
Nevertheless, I don't really like it...
