I understand, we also always had cats (and a dog) and they are like family members, just sweet animals that helped me through a lot already, too.

It's one of the many reasons to like Freddie. I'm happy they even included his love for cats in the movie, those scenes were lovely. "Delilah" might be one of the strangest Queen songs, but as a cat lover you just can't but laugh and thank Freddie for that tribute.
Oh yes 💯

Not Freddie, but Mercury 😍😜
Rightfully so. Freddie's love for cats always makes me smile.

I love that side of him. Any man who loves animals is a great man in my books.

Freddie loved his cats.... and his koi carp. I wonder how they got along. Cats traditionally love fish, from a consumption point of view.

We woke up to what I can only assume was a carp on the back lawn last summer - it was about 10" long. No idea where the cat got it from, but I bet someone wasn't happy when they discovered one fewer fish in their pond.

Our cat was very interested in the fishes in my sister’s aquarium. Until it fell into the water at one point. After that, the interest was completely gone forever.

Fish? Or fishes?

It says "fishes" referring to the plural in the Bible, so it must be correct.

For some reason, probably an inability to swim, cats seem to detest water.

Maybe fish, since you’re the native speaker, you should know.

Cats can swim by the way. Tigers enjoy it and some other cats as well. Our cats at home usually hate water, so the don’t swim.

"Should" doesn't mean anything. I absolutely hated doing English language at school.

But it's usually fish, singular, and fish, plural.

The use of "fishes" when referring to multiple "fish" in the Bible, is an anomoly. The word "fishes" is normally used as a verb, as in "the man fishes for fish".

I usually associate cats and water, with cloth bags and bricks, and the cruel bastards who unite them all.
