Funny How Love Is

Post by FunnyHowLoveIs »

Hello my beauties :-)

1st, it's a honor to be here, first post.

Why did Queen decide to not release as a single or perform in concert the gem "Funny How Love Is"?

It's mind boggling...

Management?

During the tale end of flower power?

Certainly, Adam could soar with this deep cut.

I personally covered the song.

it's as if Bruce Springsteen channeled his spirit into me as the lead vocal only version almost 4 1/2 minutes long became reality at Mode4Music of Hyannis, Massachusetts, USA. April 2017. Other songs were recorded too, either vocals only or harmonica (G) and vocals. "Too Damn Good", "MC16", "If You Would Be With Me", "Sydney Rose", "Outshining The Sun"
and of course, "Funny How Love Is".

Without doubt of all the serious music I've ever made, the 6 songs recorded in 2 1/4 hours sounded the happiest.

Unfortunately the hard drive and the Pro Toosl used to record the audio is on, is being awoken by a tech this week or so as I type. That means, all six songs run a good chance of never being heard.

If they do survive, it'll be a complete honor to boast "Funny How Love Is" as a single :-)

Come on Brian and Roger, what reason do you have for NOT doing anything with "Funny How Love Is"?

...funny

OP reminds me of a fella on another website who was going to run for president a couple of times and said weenis a lot.

Hopefully this is the same individual on better 💊, as that would be most entertaining.

Those "drugs" are debilitating, body and mind wrecking "solutions" as if a caulking gun is preferred to be used as a needle.

Think a bit before you drivel total crap

Medication is nothing to be afraid of. We all need some at some stage.

But I like the last line, and may borrow it in other posts...

'Funny How Love Is' was intended to be a Phil Spector 'wall-of-sound' type production. Freddie probably got the idea from the Larry Lurex 'I Can Hear Music' single. It was difficult for the band to replicate the sound live hence its omission from the set.

As for not being a single, in those days they only released one per album. And Seven Seas of Rhye had already been earmarked to be the lead single, seemingly even before the rest of the Queen II album had been recorded.
