I remember that Roger mentioned it in an interview somewhere, maybe it was the 1989 Radio 1 interview, that the song was inspired by a book he was reading. Does anyone know definitively what book he meant? It sounds very much like Memoirs of an Invisible Man. The timing fits. The book would have just been released at the time, and the silly 1992 movie adaptation, which ignores the book for the most part, wasn't made. And if this is indeed the book Roger was reading, is it plausible that the band were approached for the song to be used in the movie?
