Not so. I have only been saying it's dead for a couple of years...and that's because it's true.

Doesn't time fly, when you're enjoying yourself.

A message board isn't really that organic, and ANY activity on it, such as someone leaving a message suggesting it's dead, actually proves the opposite. It ISN'T Facebook, thank f*ck.

If the place really was dead for you, then I'm fairly sure you wouldn't be here.

F*ck all pedantic about that piece of rationalisation.

I'm not really here, I sort of drift in and out...

No, it was pedantic. You're always pedantic and over-literal....you knew exactly what I meant.

Even JLP doesn't post here and he's in charge.....although I have no idea of what there is to be in charge of anymore.

Pedancy is a perspective. Just being conversational, and not argumentative.....

Your perspective is that a website is to all intents and purposes, dead, mine is that the only thing that's dead, is the lead singer, and that's been the case for a third of the average person's lifespan. Also my perspective is that I am me, and therefore not pedantic and over-literal, as my limitations are mine, and not your's. Maybe you're a bit careless and under-literal? Thought about that one?

Activity of the place seems to take an upturn whenever they do something that either pleases people, or pisses them off, and often both at the same time! Paul Rodgers, Adam Lambert, WWRY, a new record deal, to name but four.

As long as they are active, in terms of "banging things out", then I'm sure it will be a place where conversation has a place.

QOL, is a place that most of us frequent less than we did ten years ago, that's an undeniable fact. Ten years ago, I didn't have a 120 mile round trip to work every day, and that was three hours more of my life, on a working day, that I could spend here. Other people also had more free time that they wanted to spend here. Some of us might actually be getting bored with saying the same old diatribe over and over again, though also in some cases that patently isn't true to them!

We've all got a gnat's bit older.

The other thing about perspective, is that you almost used to bloody live here! ANYTHING that drags you away is going to give you an enhanced view that the place holds less draw for you. You're right though, it DOES, and is the same for most of us in varying degrees.

Probably the good thing about having QZ running alongside, is that if you get bored with one environment, there's an alternative you can switch to, and maybe refresh whatever it was that drew you to a Queen site in the first place. Different people, in the main, and different perspectives.

I, personally, don't like certain things about the place, and a lot of the people who go there don't like certain things about this place. The last thing I'd EVER want to do though, is change either, because we obviously all post in whatever we think is the best suited environment for us.

On a closing note, any website like this, is a niche environment catering for the members who frequent it. It is as active as the people involved in it, want it to be, by their own contributions. Any contributions, your's, mine, anyone else's, that draw a response, are the life blood of it. Hence, this sort of conversation, by it's very nature, is the life blood of the community.

One of the few Freddie lines that I truly believe if he was being honest he probably never actually felt.

Anyone who lives life burning the candle at both ends can never believe that it wasn't worth it.

Obviously it was his inner turmoil over his sexuality. ;-)

I've had the experience (if you can call it that) of talking to a couple of people (close to the man) who talked in depth with Freddie about the topic. I think it was something he realised quite early on, probably while he was still in India. I think the relationships he had with Mary and other girls in the late sixties/early seventies were him trying to conform to his parents' expectations.
