I've been asked to work on a new default theme for the forums to tie in with the live website which I've started some provisional work on, so yes there will (eventually) be a new default appearance, all the other themes will of course still be available to use though.
Just got to get myself a little less "rusty" on creating these it's been a long time since I did.
Watch this space though...

No plans to upgrade to 3.2.0 then.
