The downside of being pretty

Postby Elessar » Thu Apr 05, 2012 6:54 pm

Anyone read Samantha Brick's self-indulgent rant?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... tiful.html

She reckons she's been victimised over the years for being so attractive. The article went viral, and she ended up writing a follow-up:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/artic ... right.html

Various amusing responses have been written, e.g.:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/ ... sfeed=true

I will soon be writing my response: People hate me for being humble and modest

Thing is, I'm sure that being outrageously attractive does bring with it some problems, alongside many, many benefits.

But this woman isn't that good-looking!! She's not ugly - far from it - but she's maybe slightly above average at best! If you're going to write about how hard it is to be good-looking, it helps to actually be good-looking! I suspect the reason she has such a hard time is because of her inflated opinion of herself.

Would love to have "worries/concerns' like she does. Of all the things she could be talking about .

Yeah i read those and couldn't believe how delusional she is

Honey women don't dislike you because you are beautiful (actually you're not) they dislike you because you are a self absorbed cow who needs to get over herself

Wow, I was expecting the woman who wrote something with that title to be stunning, not completely average looking.

Attention most likely. Which she has in droves apparently. I looked her up, I have to say there is nothing I find attactive about her at all. Stories like this piss me off more than ever. What a selfish, pig headed, ugly lady  .

For a really beautiful woman, not someone who just thinks they are, it most certainly is ! It can ruin your life.

Believe me.There are better looking women.Even on this board.

Reminds me of the time when i was gigging on a regular basis.I used to have this woman singing lead vocals. She wasnt a bad looking woman, but she had such a fantastic voice.Better even than Whitney Houston for example. But whereever we went she got standing ovations and slagged at the same time.Which was really wierd. Most(not all) women tend to hate anybody who is better than them at anything.

Maybe these women's husbands or dates were visibly or verbally going nuts over your singer? That would piss any woman off.

No Inny.

It was just the women who were going nuts. The ones with husbands were saying how good a singer she was.
