BM solo re-releases: "We're working on a plan"
Re: BM solo re-releases: "We're working on a plan"
The only reasons people don't usually do it is that fully electric guitars sound better and acoustics tend to start feeding back quite easily.
Re: BM solo re-releases: "We're working on a plan"
Add to that, go back to the forties and fifties, early uses of electric guitars would sound quite thin, mainly because they didn't crank them up very high, to overdrive them, feedback, and get distortion

If they do a "Best Of Brian May" I'll go for that but not his full albums. Just like with Roger lots of misses but enough keepers for one good album.

Full box set? No thanks, just a compilation of already released material, that'll be fine. Here's my money....
I don't share this view....

Roger's set wasn't full of demos, was it?

Re: BM solo re-releases: "We're working on a plan"
Made a fantasy one of those around 2014, with record label politics thrown out the window so various collaborations could feature. I'd rather a box-set than a lesser version of something I made myself for nowt.

FWIW... tracklisting was as follows:
CD 1
01. Driven By You
02. The Business [Rock On Cozy Mix]
03. Nothin' But Blue
04. Yoü And I - Lady Gaga featuring Brian May
05. Teasin' Around
06. Defying Gravity - Kerry Ellis & Brian May
07. Raining in My Heart - Status Quo featuring Brian May
08. I Do - Brian May & Steve Cropper
09. Love Token
10. Too Much Love Will Kill You
11. Somebody to Love - Catherine Porter featuring Brian May
12. Way Down - Taylor Hawkins & The Coattail Rides featuring Brian May
13. Wilderness
14. The Kissing Me Song - Brian May & Kerry Ellis
15. Reaching Out - Rock Therapy
16. Slow Down
17. Tired of You - Foo Fighters featuring Brian May
18. Maybe Baby
19. Eternity - Robbie Williams featuring Brian May
20. Last Horizon [Radio edit]
CD 2
01. Crazy Little Thing Called Love - Diana Ross & Brian May
02. Rockstar - Dappy ft. Brian May
03. China Belle
04. My Boy
05. Nobody Knew (Black White House) - Carmine Appice with Brian May
06. What Are We Made Of? - Sissel & Brian May
07. Hot Patootie
08. Back to the Light
09. A Time for Heroes - Meat Loaf featuring Brian May
10. Why Don't We Try Again?
11. Doing All Right - Tim Staffell & Brian May
12. Stay with Me Tonight - Jeffrey Osbourne featuring Brian May
13. Star Fleet [Single Edit] - Brian May & Friends
14. Nothing Really Has Changed - Brian May & Kerry Ellis
15. Smoke on the Water - Rock Aid Armenia
16. Resurrection [Single Edit]
17. Let Me Out - Brian May & Friends
18. Dream of Thee
Of course, Brian's released a studio album and several singles since then, so it needs a refresher. And legally this would probably be a nightmare!

Still, Phil Collins released a collaborations album, so maybe Brian could do something similar?

It'd be nice to get the version of that with the supposedly originally much longer guitar solo.
