Davies; probably the best of the entire new series. But since he took charge, he's not been as good, and I think Sherlock has been a distraction for him too. That said, he has written some of the best episodes of his own era, mostly during the Smith seasons. I was a big fan of the anniversary special.
However, what concerns me is that Chris Chibnall's writing has NEVER been particularly good. I don't doubt that he's a Doctor Who fan, but look at what he's written. 42 - poor. The Hungry Earth/Cold Blood - it was okay. Dinosaurs On A Spaceship - a candidate for worst ever. The Power Of Three - I think we were all just counting down the days to Clara at this point. Maybe some people might have liked those episodes but they certainly weren't the same calibre as The Girl In The Fireplace or Blink.
So that concerns me. However, Broadchurch is excellent, so we'll see.
