I dunno, it would have been 4-1 if a lesser keeper had been there.
We had a dream start and defended the lead for less than 90 seconds. After that second one creeped in, I think all the England team could see were today's headlines, and they went to pieces.
If they'd been facing Germany, at least they would have probably expected they'd be chasing the game, but I guess it's a bit like Man Utd after taking the lead, suddenly being 2-1 down to Bognor Regis in the FA Cup. The shock just got to them.
These players have got to pull themselves together after that embarresment, and learn how to shoot on target again. Better finishing, and they'd have easily gone in at half time 4-2 up. You can't say the same for Iceland, they only had two chances in the first half, and scored with both of them.
I guess it just proves that 11 superstars on crazy money, don't necessarily "make a team", and that being able to play "as a team" comes before superior individual talent.
Wales have that cohesion, and that's why with the exception of Gareth Bale, seem to be able to punch above their weight.
What is left of your dream?
Just the words on your stone.
A man who learnt how to teach,
But forgot how to learn.
