The UK is a 'Third World' country

Postby fairydandy » Wed Sep 15, 2010 3:30 pm

Well, according to this cretin it is:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-11317441

That bloody visit is costing the UK taxpayer £12 million. It's an affront, it's grotesque. Why the hell am I paying taxes so that the head of what is little short of a paedophile ring can visit us?

People are waking up though. Ticket sales (think about this for a minute, it's ticket sales for a religion, how revolting is that?) are slow and some venues have been changed because they couldn't fill them.

I loathe the vile old bastard I really do. God's messenger my ass, God hasn't spoken to him or anyone. It's just a farce.

Are the tickets available through Ticketmaster?

The f*ck-ups they had selling Q+PR tickets seemingly from the back going forward, (ie most of those tickets on pre-sale, were actually behind those sold three f*cking days later!), it would need God to sort it out.

He might not be an abuser. Apparently some of them aren't.

I wonder which government department allowed this to go through? Is David Cameron religious?

It's a staggering amount of money...and it would do no end of good in my run down town. :(

I agree. The Pope should pawn his ring to pay, then again its not worth a damn.

Where are the £12million figures coming from? I understood the Vatican paid £8million and the Government £7million, then this morning I heard it was £10million each? I don't really understand why the Government paid anything, nor why it's a "state" visit. There should have been no involvement of anyone not Catholic, one, because it's only Catholics who he's of any relevance to and also, so that it wouldn't have caused this almighty fuss, for four days spent in England.

The Cardinal's comment is bizarre. To begin with it's a weird thing to say, if he's ever been to a third world country it's an utterly ridiculous and painfully snobbish thing to say, then he moves onto to something about aggressive atheism, which he found in the airport? Not something I've noticed there. Then in order to defend his comments, "he meant no kind of slight", he was referring to the multicultural society...so he was being racist then? Way to backtrack!

It's hardly relevant to Catholics, Belle, never mind anyone else!

Ah, up four million on estimate, why would that surprise me.

I meant that there's no reason at all, for anyone other than the Catholic Church, and it's members should they choose, to pay for a visit. Whether Catholics want to see the Pope is really up to them, why the other 11 in twelve people should have to pay for it makes no sense and even from the Catholic side, is only increasing animosity towards the church.

Who is getting the money from these ticket sales, were does it go?

I am fed up with reading/hearing about this bloody visit already and it hasn't even happened yet. Not wishing to offend anyone but this is the most hypocritical, backward religion going IMO with more cover-ups over their behaviour than anything I can think of right now.
