As far the latter, well, that's a wonderful idea. It's too bad that some people just aren't allowed to post or have their own preferences or ideas. Everyone must think exactly alike on here or they're ousted if not worse.
This is true. And it has happened on more than one occasion and - invariably - to the same individuals. Strangely, those who do not agree with Left wing policies. This is no coincidence.

As for all this 'we only ban when we really have to' or 'we go through a process and give warnings', etc. Well that is blatantly not true. And some of us know it one hundred per cent.

This place should be run by impartial mods. Full stop.

It would be nice if we could all respectfully get along here, regardless of politics; we all seem to be reducing each other to caricatures and stereotypes based on our political thoughts (we all do it to a degree) - but I think this is the way of the world now; no debates or middle ground just us v them.
Can you please tell us how many people you think are banned from here at the present time?

My closest 'friend' on here is Elessar. It's ok, maybe that's not reciprocated, but that's how I feel. I have no issue with disagreeing with him (but he usually wins out with sheer logic and much higher intelligence)!

The thing is though, others fawn over him and they always agree with him. I'm sure he doesn't want that, but it happens. I would rather we had real opinions, conspiracies, populist beliefs, no matter how bizarre they might appear to others, because it adds colour to life and the board.

I have said it before, but Inny is put down all of the time. Sure she's a bit off-the-wall, but no one deserves that treatment!

Look at the Brexit debacle, it you supported that on here, you were pretty much cast as stupid and racist, without so much as a trial, that's just how it was. No one is screaming about the losing percentage in the US elections, I notice...and quite right too, but they kept on screaming about the 48% in the Brexit vote. Trump for all his lunacy actually increased on his votes and I wouldn't mind betting he's back in 4 years! Now don't go stereotyping me to make yourselves feel better, no, I didn't support him and never have done....but people do and people's votes (just as in Brexit) matter. Just as people matter on here...

The mods, yeah awful, simply awful...well apart from Kes, who just seems to get more eccentric as the years go by. JLP is a lovely guy, but I am not sure what we see is what we get. :(

The unfortunate thing about the Brexit result, is that nobody could have predicted the shit-storm that was going to happen in the house of commons over it, not even the remainers.

It would have been better if the two options in the referendum had been "clean break vs stay in", it probably wouldn't have affected the result, but it would have given the labour party, and half of the tory party a direction to go in. This fucking mish mash of second referendums, and we'll stay in, in everything but name, was a completely pointless stalling tactic to screw up those trying to get it done.

As regards being eccentric, yeah mad as a box of frogs. I guess that's what happens when you used to work on planes, and nobody currently wants to use them. Give it six months, and there'll be this big shortage of people it takes three years to train, and you can't import them, because thankfully enough people voted the right way in the referendum, even if I didn't.

At least the people still doing it, might get better pay for doing it. 24 grand a year, is a bit shit, considering every time you sign a piece of documentation, you're opening yourself to a long stretch inside, if it all goes wrong, trying to interpret something very precise that some French bloke has written, and has then been translated by someone who knows fuck all about aircraft.

It'd be nice if "eccentixc" summed it up.

In a nutshell, historically the left kill the right, and the right kill just about anybody they fancy, but mainly those who oppose them.

Basically, that's the difference between getting close to six o'clock, and getting close to 12. The trail of dead people.

Not to beat a dead clock (heh, heh)...but I think the nature of left, right, and middle means that views are linear, and don’t meet on the extremes. So in the clock example maybe time actually stops at 5:59 and 6:01? Interesting thing to try and analyze! I will freely admit I am not well-educated on political history so I am probably not a good one to figure such things out, though.

Just trying to explain it in terminology that me, and the average oik can understand.

The views aren't linear, as some people buying their own houses, aren't right of centre, and some people earning lots of money, might well be socialist. It's not that predictable.

There's many people who's politics might not match their finacial circumstances. That's life.

i'd like to think I'm not leftist at all, and I've not disagreed with any of the bannings. JLP has his own mind, and has the right to express it, but I don't think that has a bearing in his administration of this site.
Well, we will have to disagree then. If it was only me saying this then fine; but it is not. People have left this site because of it.

You may not be Left, but that has no relevance on the bans made by others here.

Anyone who has seen what has gone on here over the years would know that certain people say any damn thing they want and it is all good and well; others merely have to disagree with the wrong person and they get warnings, etc. I have seen it myself. I have dealt with it myself.

Never said JLP could not express his mind - never stated that. But I do not think he is impartial. That is my view and I shall stick to it.

Nope. And that has absolutely no relevance to my statement. We were talking about obvious bias on here and bans. I do not have to know who is currently banned.

Anyway, we have had this discussion before.

banning is not the problem.

the only problem here, is Inny is clearly treated unrespectful.

as for the rest, it's ok. it's just sad, that for one person this place isn't really a warm place.
